Trumpeter Erin Yanacek, a native of Michigan, is currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Erin recently completed her Master's degree in Music Performance at Carnegie Mellon University and won a cornet position in the River City Brass.

Along with teaching a studio full of trumpet students, Erin keeps busy in a variety of other ways. As a freelancer in the Pittsburgh area, Erin has performed on multiple occasions with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Wheeling Symphony, the Westmoreland Symphony, and the Johnstown Symphony. Erin also frequently performs in the jazz idiom, is also a member of the Pittsburgh-based brass quintet Iron City Brass, and performed as principal trumpet at the Orchestra Institute of Napa Valley in the summer of 2013.

Erin can be found regularly performing as a soloist and was featured most recently with the Chemical City Band in Midland Michigan, Classical Revolution Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University's Choral Ensemble, CMU's Baroque Ensemble, and CMU's Wind Ensemble. Last Spring Erin won the Baroque Concerto Competition at CMU, and will be featured this Fall performing the Neruda concerto.

Outside of performing, Erin also works as Development Associate for the Pittsburgh Youth Chamber Orchestra, Outreach Manager for Musicians With a Mission, and serves as a board member for the Renaissance and Baroque Society of Pittsburgh. Erin also loves walking dogs in Pittsburgh through Go Dog Go, and loves to ride her bike up and down the many steep hills of Pittsburgh.
